HOCKEY LEAGUE
TELLERMATE vs. BLUR
Tellermate 5 • Blur 6
ATLANTA, GA -- While wrapping tape around his shinguards to
hold them in place (and also to keep his legs warm), star Tellermate
center, Greg "Why's Everybody Always Pickin' On Me?"
Rolnick, pondered how nice it would be to notch a victory this
evening for his mother's birthday. After all, nothing says "Happy
Birthday, Mom" like a good 'ol hockey win. Alas, Mom would
have to settle for flowers and a Hallmark card this year...
With a 3-1 lead going into the second half of the game, Tellermate
was feeling pretty good about things. However, while they kept
pressing and playing for another goal, the Blur were rallying
their troops into a frenzy of reckless slashing, hooking, and
offensive mayhem. Unluckily for Tellermate, the Blur's campaign
of shots from the blue line paid off. After tying the score
at 3-3, Tellermate and Blur fought a back and forth battle.
Tellermate scored, quickly followed by Blur. The teams then
exchanged goals again. And with a minute and ten seconds left
on the clock, those bastard from Blur (I mean, those valiant
little skaters), poked a rebound through the pads of the beleaguered
Tellermate goalie. The final minute was full of tricky skating,
wonderful passing, and booming slapshots...but no goals.
Rolnick posted 2 assists and served 2 minutes in the box for
an unintentional tripping penalty, but has remained scoreless
in his last few games. With a possible match tomorrow night,
he's looking to increase his +/- rating, and maybe bring Mom
a touch more joy.
