SPORTS MONSTER FLOOR HOCKEY PLAYOFFS
GYM RATS vs. THE LEGION OF GOON
Gym Rats 5 • Legion of Goon 8
CHICAGO, IL – Unlike each and every episode of "The
Superfriends," in real life, the heroes don't always
come out victorious. Such was the case last night for the
Gym Rats, as they went out in style, playing a tight game
that didn't slip away until the final two minutes of play.
The Gym Rats notched the first goal of the game, when Greg
"I remind myself of a young Kovalchuk" Rolnick,
drew the opening faceoff back to his defenseman, who lasered
a shot through traffic and into the back of the net.
To their credit, the Gym Rats’ defense did an admirable
job of keeping the LoG's top scorer in check (often employing
a double-teaming strategy that sounds a bit lewder than it
really was).
To abbreviate this recap (you're welcome & please refrain
from comment, Mr. Hagy): Although Rolnick put up yet another
post-season hat trick (including his first power-play goal),
the LoG pulled away in the final minutes of the game with
three unanswered goals.
With a few weeks off before the start of next season, Rolnick
plans on resting up by the phone, where he expects to receive
an offer to join the ESPN boys in the booth for Wed. Night
Hockey (since he's now available and all).
so STAY TUNED!
